Our Trip to Avalon

We just returned from a fabulous vacation in Avalon, NJ. The only downside was the state of PA. and their roadwork. Do we really need to merge from 2 lanes down to 1 and back to 2 for 20 miles?

We went to visit my friend, Sharon. Sharon and I met 2 years ago at a scrapbooking retreat and we have become really good buds. We spent the week with Sharon and her two children, Beth and Christopher. The kids got along really well and Sharon and I enjoyed time to sit and gab, eat, shop, etc. Here are some photos of our week.

Aaron and Chris and Max playing on the beach. Hi-Fives all around.

The only photo that all 4 of the children would cooperate for. This was taken at the lighthouse at Cape May. Come to think about it, it was my kids that wouldn't cooperate with photos

We had dinner at a local place called The Lobster House. Lots of food at great prices. Sharon doesn't like this photo, but don't we look relaxed?

Aaron and Beth on a ride on the boardwalk in Wildwood. We went to a water park for 3 hours, stuffed ourselves with boardwalk food and then did the rides. Exhausted kids and even more exhausted mamas!

Max and Chris enjoying root beer floats for supper. Vacation life is good!

Max and Christopher check out the train that "Pops" (Sharon's Dad, Ken), has put into the yard. It is too cool.

This is what 5:00 looks like in Avalon, even if it's only 3:30.

Aaron and Chris swim in "the crick" behind the house in Avalon. Sharon took great delight in razzing me about my cornfield upbringing when I asked her if "the Crick" was salt water or freshwater. It's a tributary to the ocean, it's not even brackish!
So, that's a small taste of what we did in Avalon. Thank you so much to Sharon for being our hostess. Thanks as well to Nan and Pops for the use of your house in Avalon. You're the best.
